You just found the perfect boat for a sailing trip. Are you heading to Corsica? The island that combines the best of France and Italy? As part of Click&Boat’s series of guides to Europe’s top summer destinations, here are 5 mooring spots to dock your boat in Corsica. They will all offer you lovely memories to take back home. So, have a nice one!

The Corsican mooring spot that will leave you speechless: Roccapina

Roccapina

Every once in a while, nature works wonders. A case in point is the Lion of Roccapina, towering over the bay. There is also a Genoan tower, reminiscent of four centuries ago when the Republic of Genoa ruled this beautiful island. Be careful, it’s a steep climb, so make sure you’ve got the right shoes to meet the Lion in person.

Once up there, you’ll see with your own eyes how the wind has worked to shape what looks like a real lion with the spine, mane and dignified presence of the king of the jungles. Further down is the cove of Roccapina, a breathtaking beach in a gulf waiting to be discovered. This is a perfect anchor spot to dock, but somehow different from anything else you have seen before, right? With a little bit of imagination, you might even spot in the corner a man’s face and an elephant’s head. Nature is the greatest artist, they say.

The unmissable mooring spot to dock your boat in Corsica: Gulf of Girolata

Girolata

Girolata Bay has often been cited as the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, so it’s a perfect mooring spot to dock your boat in Corsica. As an albatross spreading its wings majestically, the ‘maquis’, a local shrub typical of the Mediterranean landscape, envelops the red cliffs of the Gulf of Girolata. This volcanic rock attracts hikers, boaters and other tourists with its natural beauty. Not surprisingly, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

At Girolata, which has its own port, there is also an eponymous small, picturesque village attached to the municipality of Osani. Only fifteen people live here throughout the year, and you can access it on foot or by sea. The local harbour is perfect for a boat rental in Corsica to visit the Scandola Nature Reserve in the North and the Calanques of Piana in the South – two more wonders of nature to visit by boat.

Our kind of Corsican mooring spot : Centuri port

Centuri

Port Centurion takes your breath away instantly: lobsters abound, providing the raw material for a delicious dish that Centuri, a small village located in Haute-Corse on the Cap Corse, is famous for. Genoan towers, Mediterranean climate, strong winds, unspoiled nature and a hilly terrain give character to this peninsula, a monument to Corsica’s history and unique landscape in this northeastern part of the island. It’s worth visiting because it has kept a whiff of Corsican authenticity, from old, colourful houses made of stone to old-school fishing.

Here is an open observatory to the deep blue of the Mediterranean, away from the maddening crowd of the summer. You can also find here the only typical Corsican windmill that survived urban modernism. In other worlds, if you’re in for a change of scenery, this is a perfect mooring spot to dock your boat in Corsica.

The Corsican mooring spot for fishing : Campomoro

Campomoro

Campomoro, not far from Propriano, is a fisherman’s paradise. The view is great when you get up there, especially to see the Torra Di Campomoro, the largest Genoan tower on Corsica. One of the advantages of using Click&Boat’s platform is the wide range of options for a boat rental in Corsica, from sailboats, catamarans and RIBs to fishing boats. You can find here a wide range of fish, including bass, sea bream, squid, sole: just play by the book because fishing is regulated on this part of Corsica. Enjoy your favourite hobby and relax a bit.

The anchorage that reminds us of the Pacific Ocean : Rondinara bay

Rondinara

A sublime beach. A dreamy setting. A phrase you will hear quite often here: “it feels like we are in the Pacific.” Except that you are on Corsica, not the Philippines. Which is not bad after all, since you’ll find here the perfect background for an unforgettable summer. You will find an exotic beach at the bay of Rondinara. The eponymous beach is considered one of the most beautiful ones in France by the locals and a perfect mooring spot to dock your boat in Corsica.

Fine sand? All over the place. Turquoise water? As soon as you put your feet in the water. Enter the clearest horizon you have ever seen, lush vegetation, and a blazing sun, and you have the full package. In other words, a Corsican atoll in the middle of the Med. Enjoy like you are on an exotic island in the middle of nowhere, just a few miles from Bonifacio. Take the plunge and hire a boat in Corsica to explore this little paradise on earth. You will not regret it!
