When you decide to take to the sea for a boat trip, you expose your boat to varying weather conditions, but also to a variety of dirt and stains. Nautical fabrics, the first victims of these maritime hazards, must be protected and cleaned regularly. We recommend that you opt for textiles from our partner Sunbrella®, the leader in indoor and outdoor fabrics. In addition to giving your boat an enviable elegance, their textiles will be more resistant to potential future damages!
As effective as they are, these fabrics are not invulnerable to stains. But don’t worry, we have some tips on how to get rid of stains before your boat sets sail again.
Why choose Sunbrella fabrics for your boating trip?
If you want your boat to be equipped with durable marine fabrics that last, you’ll find satisfaction with Sunbrella® fabrics. By enhancing living spaces while demonstrating endurance in the face of the vagaries of sailing, these fabrics combine aesthetics with technical prowess.
Whether for your winter covers, sail covers, biminis, seats, or spray hood, you will benefit from fabrics that, in addition to being durable and versatile, will ensure your comfort during your excursions at sea. Whether you are a sailing expert in your area or a newcomer to our platform, from motorboats to sailboats, these textiles are suitable for all types of vessels.
And here are some qualities that these marine fabrics have:
#1 UV & Fade Resistance
The colours of your fabrics will keep their intensity and will not fade despite daily exposure to the sun, seawater, and chlorine. This way, you can prepare for your trip without worrying about your fabrics being affected by a sometimes hostile marine environment.
#2 Protection From the Sun
If you decide to go out on the boat but are worried that long hours in the sun will be bad for your skin, marine textiles such as awnings will offer you the best protection. This way, you can enjoy long hours at sea without fearing the dangers of overexposure to the sun. In addition, these fabrics allow consistent airflow, allowing you to enjoy comfortable sailing!
#3 Stain and Mildew Resistance
Boats are not immune to the unexpected changes of the weather, which will, over time, take a toll on your vessel. You wouldn’t think of renting a boat with stains, but stains can cause mould and mildew to develop. But don’t panic! Fabrics can be cleaned with bleach without affecting their colour.
